Due to increased tensions with Pakistan the government has cleared one last acquisition before it bows out---that of Kamov helicopters having an early warning radar for warships . The radar will keep lookout for fighter jets threatening our warships and give early warning of their attack . The navy or air force will then scramble it's fighter jets to meet them in combat .
The navy already has 12 such copters and 10 more will give protection from aerial threats to total 22 major warships .
